The vintage shape suits the room better than a plain modern fitting. The 8-inch size matches the space more closely than I expected from the photos.

The pattern has enough detail to be interesting without looking busy. The 12-inch shade is a good scale for our table and does not crowd the surface.

The box looked large, although the lamp inside was packed securely. We chose it for the bedroom, where the warmer glass light feels more comfortable in the evening.

Unpacking took a little time, but the lamp was very well protected. In person, the European-style shape feels characterful rather than overly formal or old-fashioned. Finding suitable E26 bulbs was straightforward, and warm white ones suit the glass best in our room.

Worth the wait

I now use it every evening instead of the main ceiling light. I still enjoy using it regularly. The colours look especially good after dark.
