The vintage shape suits the room better than a plain modern fitting. The 18-inch shade is large enough to give presence without making the corner feel crowded.

Worth the wait

The lamp arrived carefully packed, with every glass section intact. In person, the European-style shape feels characterful rather than overly formal or old-fashioned. The 8-inch size matches the space more closely than I expected from the photos. It does not look out of place with the rest of the room.

The 16-inch size works well in the space we chose. I would make the same choice again. The classic style works with the rest of the room.
